My client has an immediate opening in Alpharetta, GA for a Perl developer to join a team developing and maintaining a commercial software product. This role would be responsible for developing substantial new components to the product and providing maintenance of existing code. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, highly productive, and able to jump into a complex database-driven reporting product and rapidly make major contributions to the team. Very strong programming expertise is required. Development will be a combination of Perl, Adobe Flex, & C#, but very strong candidates with Perl or Flex backgrounds with strong C, C++, or Java skills that are open to learning the other languages and have extremely strong skills in the language they are most proficient in will also be considered. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES * Designing and implementing new functionality in the product based upon requirements delivered to the engineering team by product management * Assume responsibility for the quality and timeliness of assigned software development efforts. * Diagnosing and resolving product bugs identified by customer support and QA * Working directly with customers on complex escalated support issues * Active participation as a member of a world class software team.
